cencalifoothill15's simple build thread

I truly appreciate the compliment!! Looks like you have a lot of cool wheeling shots on your thread man, great looking truck too bro! And speaking of the Bump-stops, I'll probably pull the trigger on them in a couple of months, just got to get through Christmas, & my Wife's Birthday is on New Years Eve, so I've got to save every dollar so we can have a good time! I'm forced to put things on pause for a bit untill tax refund time comes. *Priority mods are getting sliders, skids and on board air asap. :bowl: I'll give you a heads up once I get the bump-stops and let you how they worked out. !!****

I'm actually placing my orders for the bump stops right now. I should have them on before New Years. I'll give you more feedback once I have them installed.

If we could plan a Nor-Cal/Cen-Cal Run that would be awesome!

I grew up in the Sonora area and would love to come back and run some of my old favorites. I am in Sacramento now but do occasionally run up Hwys 88 and 4 for Corral Hollow, Barney-Riley, Squaw Ridge/Pardoes Trail, Slickrock, Eagle Meadows, etc. I'll have to catch up with you guys this summer.

paddlenbike that sounds good man! I've heard a lot about "Slick-rock" some good buddies went last summer and had a blast. -Ha I'm up in Sonora pretty often actually to visit the Lowe's (part of my route) My job headquarters is off the 88 in Lockeford, my Boss lives in Citrus Heights so i'm the Sac area often too.

*I guess somebody might have to start a new thread to begin the planning of a T4R.ORG (All Gens) NOR-CAL/CEN-CAL MEET/WHEEL TRIP. Obviously these things take some planning to work out for the majority of people that want to go. And of course SO-CAL guys are more than welcome to join if it's feasible for them of course. :bigok:

(Time, Location, will be the biggest factors) -We need to start planning after the New Year, & shoot for Spring/Summer run.

It's gonna be fun!! :horn:

Had a little fun today!

Looking great, haven't checked in on your build in a while. How are you liking those duratracs so far? If I can get over my fear of the duratrac sidewalls blowing out from a rock I might switch from the KM2's.

I'm out in the southwest now, but my real home is in Sonora. I'm back there quite a bit, let me know when you are coming up and we can hit some trails if you want. And paddlenbike it's about time I do some wheeling with you too.

Stockwell45 How's it going man, the "Duratracs" are holding up really good, but I hear ya on the sidewall issue they do seem a bit thin, just glad I got replacement warranty on them, even if I'm at fault and ruin them I get new ones at least. I should have just coughed up the extra ca$h and got the GY Kevlar MT-R's just for peace of mind. However they are a solid tire, no compliants really, I usaully air down to 12-15 PSI when I'm on the trail.

- I look forward to hitting some trails with you for sure, give me a heads up whenever you come back this way. thanks for checking out my thread!!

These are awesome tires, I just find it strange I've seen 3 sidewall tears on brand new kevlars in the past month. (2) 40's and (1) 33. I'm losing faith in the whole kevlar idea lol after seeing how easily they tore.

-Yup that's funny you mention that, LOL I've heard a lot bout that lately on Toyotaholics FB page, and a friend recently ripped one (37") out on the trail too... hmmm makes you think twice huh? Hopefully it's just a glitch tho. :wtf:

Yeah I dunno, I watched a little twig rip through the sidewall like butter on all three. Brand new tires too. It definitely would deter me if I was in the market for tires.

I mountain biked Slickrock last year but haven't driven it for at least 6 or 7 years. We will have to get together with stockwell and go sometime.

Here's some amatuer vids

Here's some vids of me messing around enjoying my 4R- Same videos from the last page, however these are embedded, (if you suffer from vertigo do not watch these)

(same camera-man too my apologies lol)

**good times @china peak**

Took the Kiddo's out for some snow-play. This place is definitely a hidden gem in the Sierra's. We had to go a lot higher up to find snow, all of the usual snow-parks we go to were completely dry, even at 6000-7000ft. it was really patchy.

Oh & that Ol' Dodge (aka Farm-truck) is my Cousins we attempted to hit the trial but the Tamarack gate was closed. WTF

Where's all the Snow??
