Center console swap question

Looking at switching my center console in my 97 to a 99+. Questions is do I need the whole center console or can I just buy the bezel and the e brake and use my 97 console shell? I don't really want to spend a couple hundred dollars for 2 cup holders. $50 for the bezel is a little easier to swallow.

Bezel and Ebrake should work, but what are your plans for switches? You'll need the 99 radio surround as well if you want it to look clean.

Didn't think it was an easy switch to do the 99 radio bezel. I'll look into it but I don't know how it is going to work with the vents. I just planned on throwing the switches to the left of the steering. My cup holders front and back are both broken and it sucks.

You can simply mount the 99+ console into the pre 4runner. No drilling involved. Make sure to get the floor mounting bracket to mount the 99+ into yours.

Run the rear window and ETC switches to the front dash near the tilt lever. You will have to remove some electrical tape in the harness to extend the wires.

This is an easy swap. I have 4 cup holders in the front now.

I didn't think about the blanks on the left side. Yeah, that's way easier.

I'm pretty sure you need the whole thing, plus the bracket for the bottom. The 99+ consoles are taller, thus the center bezel won't fit in the 96-98 console. The 99+ consoles have a small extra storage in the top that makes up the extra room.

The 99+ bezel won't fit in the pre 99 4runner. It is to tall and too wide.

I was thinking about the console swap until I saw the 3D printed cup holders. They are $50 and WAY easier than the console swap, no cutting the e-brake handle and all that.

Super secure and does not get in the way at all. I love it.

I did the whole console with the 99 ebrake and the right bracket. Easy and no drilling. I didn't have to cut anything. I spent $100 total. Got most of it off eBay and some from a t4r poster.
