matthewy03, were you using a six-point socket when you thought you were stripping the plug? When I did my front, I was using one of those 12-point or whatever they are sockets and it felt like it was stripping. Went and bought a six-point one and it came right out.
Is it better to warm up the fluid in the transfer case and diffs before changing the oil to get more junk cleaned out like when doing an oil change? Such as driving a few miles in 4HI/4LO first? Or would it be better to do them cold so that the drain/fill plugs are easier to remove because they haven't expanded at all?
Did this today but over torque drain plug on the rear. Now plug(bolt) won't come out.look like the washer went inside the differential. Does anyone know how to remove the bolt plug ? Should I seal it up with some por15 ?
Hey guys ive only done the rear and going to do the front and center this weekend, my question is when does the bottle pump come into play?
