Changing Outside Temp from F to C On Display

I remember reading that it was a dealer only change. They have to plug in a scanner and change the settings.

I was playing with the dealers handheld and couldnt find it... So i was thinking it is a key combination... Since the key combination is to get the diagnostics from it already....
Auto + Reciculation and ignition on.... puts it into diagnostic..

Hi,
I'd like to kickoff this thread again as I have a very strange problem with my outside temperature display and auto climate control.
After getting my windshield replaced the temperature and climate numbers changed from Celcius to Fahrenheit (I'm in Canada).
According to the dealer they see this sometimes although nobody knows why because they do not disconnect the battery when replacing the windshield. Even disconnecting the battery should not cause it to switch. The dealer fixes it by disconnecting the battery for an hour unfortunately this is not working for me and I'm stuck in Fahrenheit. The dealers only other advice is to replace the climate control unit for big $$$$. Not very likely.
Any advice/instructions about how to change from imperial to metric would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Kazakhstan and in my country - Celcius (no Fahrenheit).
In my car outside temperature displayed in Fahrenheit.
It's a problem for me too.
I have an information that change of the display -

Sorry for the delay in responding about the F to C problem. I have been dealing with my local dealer here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and they have been quite helpful but unfortunately the problem is not solved.
Initally the word was disconnecting the battery for an hour should reset it, however after numerous tries the dealer admitted defeat and escalated the problem. After corresponding with Toyota Canada and supposidely with Japan no one knows why it should be in F instead of C. At one point they were saying it was physically impossible that Canadian 4runners could display temps in F. Looking at my display in F obviously disproves this logic.
The dealer now says the only solution is a very expensive replacement of the whole climate control module. Crazy.
Meanwhile the two backlight lamps for the LCD have gone out so in a way it is good as I can't see the LCD at night and have the F bugging me
Sorry to all those of you who still operate in F but my mind only thinks in Celcius so this really bugs me but not enough to lay out serious dollars to fix it.
Anybody out there find out anything different, I was thinking perhaps it is the sensor that do either a C or F reading and not the module. The problem appeared about the time I got the windshield replaced, anybody know where the outside temp sensor is located?

You are probably on the right track. Land Rovers can switch bet F and C with a key combination. Just need to find someone who knows what it is.....
