Changing wheels and tires on my 12 LTD

Hey all i'm new to the forum! I purchase my first 4Runner and got the 2012 Limited model. I want to change the wheels and tires because there are no options for tires on the 20's unless I lift it. I am thinking of going with a black 17" wheel. Any suggestions on overall size, offset and tire? I want a slightly aggressive tire like a Nitto or something. I mainly drive highway but like the aggressive look. I don't want to lift it because of the XREAS suspension. I live in western WI and work for the local Toyota dealer and my parts dept isn't the most confident with what i'm trying to accomplish here...any help would be great! Love seeing all the pics of your trucks!

Mannnnnn the search function is your friend. Congrats on the ride. Find a set if take off Fj rims and or SR5/TE rims. Slap on some duratracs 285/70/17 call it a day.

If you want a slightly aggressive look with 17" wheels with no lift and don't want tires rubbing your wheel wells -

Get some 17"x8" wheels with a 0 offset like Level 8 mk6 in black

Then get some p265/70/17 all terrain tires like nitto terra grapplers or toyo open country at2.

If you go with a bigger tire or a more aggressive wheel offset, you may need to manipulate the inner liner of your wheel wells to keep the tires from rubbing.

Good advice, 17x8" wheel with 0 to +15 offset should work. There are quite a few choices out there in that range. A few sites offer a search function by wheel size and you can specify offset range.

That is incorrect. There are a ton of limiteds on this forum with 17s.
16" wheels wont fit though...

you can't get a 16" in our trucks.. the 17" TRD's on my truck wildly disagree with your wheel guys! :crazy: :biggrin2: :boxing:

It isn't a big deal to get 17s on there. It involves picking a wheel that will work (there are probably hundreds) and going for it. Your best bet is probably going to be looking at pictures on here, finding out what styles you like and your budget, ordering the ones you want online and taking them to a discount tire/america's tire or equivalent and asking them to mount your new tires on the new wheels for your truck.

They will work just fine. Here's my 13 LE with Konig 17x8 0 offset and 265 Cooper AT3.

Got my wheels and tires on finally! Bull Bar has been installed too...no lift!

Keep us posted on how those tires do for you. I would like to know if you maintain your stock miles per gallon with these tires. Looks great!

Just took it on a trip I do every other week and maintained the same mileage from stock! I was very surprised/glad!
