haha my friend is a dumba$$. his truck is by no means an off-road avalanche. it's a black '07 with 24's, tinted windows, chrome door handles, one of those after-market radio system displays, 2 JL Audio 15'' subs in the back... and it's 2wd!!!!

I think the cop took one look at the vehicle and knew he had to write a ticket... Sounds like your buddy has too much money and not enough brains.

I don't believe the officers had a choice. Since it was reported and they were called in to take a look, what are they supposed to do? Let him off with a warning and advise him to repair the damage when he gets a chance? Kinda like robbing a convenience store... "Aw we didn't write him a ticket or arrest him because he said he would pay it back..." Yea, right... Sometimes people need a reminder that they need to think before they act.

I would have wrote a ticket for the guy in the avalanche. I would have let the other guy who was pulling him out off with a warning.

that's exactly what i thought should have happened. one of my friend's got a ticket for trying to help a friend out... bs

As long as the other guy was off the grass and not causing any other damage... I wholeheartedly agree! However, they may have believed that both were trying to make a run for it and leave the damage without taking responsibility. Like I said, once they get a call, they have to act on it if they catch the responsible party.

That's what I was thinking, unless the other guy was on the grass too.

the problem is the way he was stuck, my friend had to go in the grass to pull his dumba$$ out... he didn't have enough length in the tow strap to stay on the pavement.

if he was smart he would have called me cause i coulda winched him out without ever touching rubber to the grass. and i could have gotten him out quicker... probably before the cops got there. yesterday he was tellin me, "dude, i'm an idiot. i shoulda called you cause of you winch..." haha
