Check Engine, VSC Trac, Trac off?

I have had this error on my 04 4runner for over 6 mos now. New battery, replaced gas cap with Advanced auto gas cap, took that gas cap back and bought new gas cap from Toyota and same problem. Disconnect battery and error goes away for a bit but comes back. I guess I will take 4runner to AutoZone to pull code to see what the error is. Just curious if others have had same problem and been able to fix the error other than replacing or checking gas cap to ensure gas cap is on properly? Thanks!!

I recommend a cheap OBDII scanner for everybody.

My experience with the same lights like yours:

mine - gas cap
a GX470 - gas cap
an LS430 - exhaust leak
a GS400 - bad sensor but I forgot if it was O2 or something else

My '04 has the same problem, and I have no idea how to fix it. Nor does the local shop. Last time they reset all the codes and reset the yaw. The light came on for about 24 hours shortly after, but it's been off for several days now. I've not yet replaced the battery or gas cap.

One thing to try is following the procedure on TSB BR005-03

Mine popped this morning, same gas station and they didn't get the cap on right.

Get these same lights on my 2005 Highlander, I see that they will follow me to my 4Runner. Has always been the gas cap tightness for me.
