Chuckles' 98 Manual SR5 4Runner

BTW, the water pump gasket is leaking. That means I have to take everything back apart and put it all back together again :bolt:

Thanks that's awesome! And just think all of this stuff I learned on my own with help from my dad and the internet!

I am currently studying computer science (I think that's in here somewhere) and I like it so far. I've always thought that I could fall back on to mechanic work if I don't like CS or something. I'll send you a PM with my email in a few minutes.

Self education and accelerated learning using the internet are the best way to get your education. I would argue that education is self education, even during those horrible years in the mandatory public school we all suffer through. (how anybody ever thought that junior prison was a good thing, I will never know).

A man who can self teach, is a man of high value.

A man who has the opportunity, and can learn from his dad, is blessed. The man that admits it, has proven his ability to learn anything and become a man who can lead.

You will do well whatever path you choose in life.

Okay, so that was the practice run. :)
I think more gets learned that way than when things go smoothly anyway.

I've learned LOTS over the years....

I don't think you could have worded this any better! And thank you for the compliments!

I re-did the TB and WP yesterday. I need to wait 'till 4:00 or so today until the sealant is cured enough to put coolant in. I really hope this got it!

Oh, the reason why the WP didn't seal is because the block where the WP seals felt wavy like the person that did the last WP gouged into the metal with something. The Permatex sealant should do the trick though.

What's the chances of this.

Well look here! this is where the old girl went. I drove this 4runner to UTK for school from Smithville. I made the trip from Knoxville to Smithville, to Knoxville just about every weekend to come see my parents. I wondered what ever happened to it. The lot you bought it from is my fathers. Looks like you've turned it into something to be proud of! she sure did take care of me for sure, driving back and forth to Knoxville.

All Clean! Sure does look different with the skid plate off.

hahaha i busted my seat the same way ON THE TEST DRIVE! at 6'7" tall and 240lbs i couldn't get comfy at first and i leaned back a bit and i thought i fell through the actual seat itself. when i got back to the dealership and the guy noticed it and said "what are you going to do about this"? i said nothing, handed him $5100 and closed the deal right then, full asking price. long story short, you just reminded me to fix this because 5 years later its still not fixed. And nice build you got. KEEP 'ER GOOOIN'

Haha! Thanks :)

I got my peel n seal in today. It is actually a little thicker than my dad's fatmat and is cheaper. Hopefully it works good!

The damage from some fat guy busting out the seat bolt. The bracket is torn off on both sides and we're going to bolt it down with some JB weld in-between the seams.

The RS3000 ECU would up going behind the clock. The remote distance is at least 10 times better with the antenna in the A pillar!

what is the brand and where did you purchase it?

Is it asphalt based and does it smell...I think I may have used it to flash windows, but gray matter leakage into my hair makes it hard for me to remember sometimes.

I want to do the cargo area, so I will check it out. I was going to use edpm foam, but decide to save it for on top of my drawer system when I get to it. The dogs need some padding for sleeping.

I don't know if it is asphalt based or not, but it does not smell unless you stick your nose up to the roll. There is no smell after it is installed.

Going to go pick some up. Waiting on a welder for the front bumper mounting, so today it is interior and trim masking,,,

Still haven't decided on the color, might do one side silver and one side black and decide which I like.

Order the savage rear bumper and sliders, but I have to wait two months for them. Ole boy is busy as an ant in a rain storm.

I hope I get my skid plates soon! But I don't mind to wait.
