Last night, I made my sway bar end links into single disconnects. I also put the skid plates back on.

Here is my "C Squared" stencil I did today. (that's my initials)

I got my Depo clear turn signals! I am converting them for the switchback LEDs right now...

Lights!/ Seat Brackets

All Lights on


No Headlights










I switched the seat brackets from my old seats to the new ones. The 1996-98 brackets fold down farther than the 99+ ones. A side note- the brackets for the seat backs are diffrent too. 1999+ seat backs are not even close to being able to work with 1996-98 mounting points. (sorry if this doesn't make sense lol)

(closest to the camera has the old brackets. there is at least an inch diffrence)

Fun weekend!

I had some great fun with the OA this weekend! I slept in the 4Runner while everyone else was in the lodge. It was great and is perfect for me (5'9")














Yes, it is taller than a stock Taco :thumb:

History

Looked up the VIN on AutoCheck and it confirmed it's hard and neglected life- until now

It was sold by Tom Wood Toyota in Indianapolis, Indiana. Leased by someone in Indiana, then they moved to Nashville, TN. It was then sold at auction in 2001 to an independent dealer. The next owner had it one year also. The next buyer (2002) had it until 2014 where it was sold at an auto auction. That owner backed into a car in 2013. They also lost the title in 2011. In May 2014, Smithville Tire and Service bought it at the auction for the owner's son to drive while he was at UT. They replaced the clutch, clutch master cylinder, brake pads, brake shoes, and lots of shabby work. Apparently, he didn't like the clutch in the hills of East TN, so they sold it to me.

Forgot to mention that my sunroof doesn't work at all now! I used to hit the motor with a drum stick and it would work. :lol:

Does anyone know what motors will work besides a 4Runner sunroof motor?

Still chugging along

I just want to say how much of better quality engine the 5VZ is than the 4-cyl in my mom's Scion xD. Mine (with 251,xxx miles) doesn't burn any oil (just a small oil pan leak) and my mom's 2008 scion (103,xxx miles) burnt around 2 quarts of oil last oil change.

I got some goodies today!

Non power antenna- not OEM, need to paint black

Rear cone bump stops- to add a little more lift in the back

Cleanable air filter- K&N!!!! $2 lol

Front pull out cup holder- put mine with it and I will have a complete one with some spare parts

About 20 mini fuses

Random clips

Rear hatch struts- a lot stronger than mine

2 Roof Rack Cross Bars- need paint and I also got one end cap

Today's work

Slow, but steady progress...

I painted the antenna black (still drying)

Cut the bump stops for the AirLift 1000

Cleaned, oiled, and installed the K&N filter

Cleaned the roof rack cross bars. I have decided to not paint them (too much work and you can't really see where the paint is peeling)




I also got the best MPG so far... 18.0 :roadkill:

It was 85% City driving and got approx. 290 miles on the tank. I did run it low though...

K&N is great so far! Not much of a power increase, but I can still feel it slightly.

Got the antenna installed today.

I washed it yesterday after really needing it! lol

I don't know if it's my imagination, but this thing is pretty fast now! Might be summer gas (IDK if we have it yet) or maybe the K&N?

I'm planning on putting the rear bump stops in soon. Maybe tomorrow? It just depends on when I can get some garage space for an hour or so.

I need to get paint for the bumpers since it's warm now.

I got the bump stops in today! It raised the rear end up pretty good... maybe I should stop bashing the 99 springs. Pictures tomorrow if it isn't raining!

Out of curiosity, where do you plan on putting the antenna? I was looking at the mount you plan on getting and just don't understand where it's going!

I just put them on there so I wouldn't be as worried about the weight rating. I also climb up there a bunch and sit down. They were only like 5 bucks at the salvage yard.
