This morning my 2008 4R Limited displayed the Check Engine light, the VSC light was blinking and the Traction light was on. There are other threads about this but I thought I'd post a clean one.
Took it to the dealer and there is a TSB out for the gas cap. Has some issue that develops over time, I was unclear as to the actual reason.
Anyway if that issue develops, no amount of fiddling with it or filling the tank seems to fix it. The dealer wanted an hour of labor and then $21 for a new gas cap. I have the 100K extended warranty so it was covered as a TSB, the warranty doesn't otherwise cover it.
So, if you have this issue, I suggest just buying the gas cap and installing yourself. You need to go through several "drive cycles" for the ODB code to clear, or you can clear it with a scanner.
Hope the info saves someone else some headaches. Of course, you may have another cause, but this is a cheap way to start a diagnosis if you want.
