Clear Corner Lens Question: White or Orange bulb?

I got a pair of Burtman clear corner lenses for Christmas and just put them on today.

My question, to those who have done this mod, is did you keep the original white bulb with the clear lens or did you go for an orange bulb, as supplied with the Burtman corner lights?

The orange bulb fills the entire lens with orange light at night, obviously, but it used to be that from the front that part of the lens was lit in clear white light.

I don't know which looks better yet, I've got the orange bulb in now and it's pretty sweet looking, I'm gonna try the clear bulb in a week or so.

PS. Burtman, I should probably mention that the bulb plastic plug as it comes with the lens did not fit my '02 4Runner, the grooves are incorrect. It's no big deal as I reused the plugs from the old lenses and just swapped the bulb.

In my opinion Orange is ugly... I went with a superwhite blue colored bulb, makes it look a lot cleaner..

I had the same problem with my clear corners, so I trimmed the connections so they fit in...no biggie...

I have orange in right now, just cuz it came that way but I may swap them back out...

i ordered a pair of PIAA corner bulbs so hopefully mine will have a bluish tint.

i havent got them in yet, but are they hard to install? since im guessing im going to have the same fitment problem as you guys had with my '01

Easy as hell to install... Kind of hard for me because I have to take that piece on my brush guard off everyt time, which is kind of annoying.

I would go with a white bulb. I would look for one that puts out a similar color of white as your headlights.

I went with crome bulbs that you can also get from Burtman. They look super clean in daylight when the lights are off, however they are not bright at all when you have the lights turned on. after looking at the photo above I think I'm going to switch to the superbright blue kind of bulb that Fo-sheezy has in his photo. very nice.

I went with the 921 Polarg Superwhite w/ Hybrid Lens from www.eautoworks.com It's about $18 a piece, but it's worth it lol.

In some parts of the country the local cops will have a reason to pull you over with white bulbs in your corners but you live in Montana so I doubt this will be an issue.

I've been lazy since I went wityh clear lenses/signals and still just have the OEM dingy clear bulbs but in the signals they look ok but the corners need the better bulbs.

In the day you can't really tell but at night they look totally different than my Silverstar bulbs in the headlamps.

i don't have clear corners yet. but when one of the bulbs burnt out, i decided to replace both of them with amber leds

i like it much better than the stock white and they're really really bright

looks a lot better in person

Careful with the bluish tinted lights. Where I'm from, that's called "impersonating an officer." $50 ticket? $100 ticket? Nope. You go straight to court for that one.

Just a heads up guys. I'm pretty sure blue lights on the car are illegal in any state.

I don't think they care if the bulb is blue when it lights up white?? And it's not flashing?? But then again every state is different. You're right about blue lights being illegal, I remember I use to have blue corner lights, blue turn signals, and blue LED's above my license tag. I got pulled over a lot but they never gave me ticket, so I changed everything to superwhite. But our law says that blue lights are not illegal UNLESS they are flashing.

Ok,I found the state laws on there and there are some goofy laws concerning colors and stuff.

I have read that parking lights or turn signals can be white or amber but not blue.

I wouldn't go with just a plain clear bulb if I were you because they have that ugly yellow stock headlight tint to them. I'd go with a PIAA/Polarg Superwhite 921 Bulb for that clean newer & brighter look! :bigok: Or Superwhite LED's if you don't want a blue colored bulb.
