howdy, i've got a '91 sr5 and just the other day i noticed that when i push on the accelerator i can hear a clicking noise. it'll stop when i take my foot off but will be back every time i acclerate. it sounds like it is coming from the center of the undercarriage. can anyone point me in the direction of the sound? thanks

also, just a minor question on the sound. when i go over any type of bump in the road i hear a knock that sounds like its coming from the driver side door. i just replaced the cv joint on that side and am wondering if it could be a bad shock? thanks

Is the clicking noise constant no matter how fast you are driving or does it get faster as you accelerate?

It could be a bad U-joint in your drive shaft. Where the end of your drive shaft meets with the rear-diff, gab it and see how much play is in it. If their is a lot of play in it than you may need to replace the u-joint.

If the clicking is constant than there's a good chance it might be your rear diff. The fluid in the rear diff may need to be topped off, or worse case, rebuilt.
