Clicking noise when turning - but just replaced CV joints

I know the obvious answer to a clicking noise when turning would be a worn/bad CV joint. I just replaced these about 6 weeks ago - didn't hear any noise before -- or after I replaced them. I replaced them because the boots were totally ripped/ no greese in one of the boots - and the other boot was full of water.

I didnt hear any clicking before I replaced them though... and after I replaced them everything was good until today.

I noticed when taking a sharp left hand turn - I heard a clicking noise.


Could anything else be causing this? or did i just get a bad CV axle - and maybe that is the issue - it failed? I bought aftermarket ones from ROCKAUTO -- if that makes a difference.

Parked mine last night, no clicking.
Went to go out this morning, clicking.

Turned out to be ice build up in the front wheel well dragging on the sipes of the tire. A little brisk driving cleared it up.

I actually thought of that. as you know from your location ... we got hammered a couple days ago - and then cold as **** last night. was -3 when I got into the car this morning. I need to clean out my garage bay so I can actually park inside again! ha. A trip to the carwash is in order -- hopefully that is it... but I dont know....

Was the same thing again this morning. Going to stop by the wash as well and power off the rest of the crud and salt. Even though it's supposed to rain.

yea - that is my next project. I did the bushings - and that helped with some noise -- but I want to do the end links now and see if that stops it all -

UPDATE:

was able to store my car inside the garage last night --- and let it thaw out today in the sun.. and melt off all the snow and ice.... and ..... amazingly the clicking noise is gone!

must have been some ice build up somewhere....

hopefully it doesnt come back!
