Cold starting issue on 874runner

OK so here is the deal.My 1987 Toyota 4runner has a rough time starting in weather below 30* .We have done a lot of checking around and did the normal elimination game and rechecks etc. We have cleaned out the injector , swapped injectors from another motor to check, we have also checked the senor and cleaned that all out.We are getting fuel into the senor and getting air flow etc. We are pretty much stumped on where to go from here . Any ideas ?

I'm assuming you're talking about the cold start injector?

Beyond that, I'd check the battery, and replace your plugs and wires. My current 22RE starts up pretty easy after a few cranks even in the 2 degree weather we have right now... My old 4Runner started just by flicking the key to start even when cold...

Other ideas will follow I'm sure. :wink2:

Already put a new 1000 cranking amp battery in it .And the plugs are good new ones where put in 6 months ago .

It could also be a sensor issue, or a bad vacuum line.

Does it run rough once started? Either the first 5 min, then after it's warmed up?

Nope it runs perfectly fine and purrs like a kitten when it fires up. What sensnor do you suggest looking at ? we have already swapped out the cold start one that underneath the thermostat area. A buddy of mine who works on these a lot also told us to recheck the valves , if we have them too tight that might cause it too. Any other ideas ? I appreciate the help :thanks:
