Color Matched Aftermarket Front Bumpers for 4th gen specifically

So... which colors work and which don't? whats the formula? Obviously white does not, that needs a black bumper, but my current 4runner, obviously it works! pic below.

I am asking because I am in the market for a 2008 v8 4runner, (selling my 3rd gen btw) and trying to figure what colors will work for color matching and which will only work with black. I am probably going with shockworks or cbi 3 loops.

Anyways, curious on your opinions!

nice 3rd gen..by the way. I would say the majority of the 08 colors work done correctly with touches of black in all the right spots.
Even white, though I have always agreed with you that its just to much until.. [MENTION=50591]gaterose[/MENTION]. He did the un thinkable and did a complete white out which was ball'z especially with how his ride looked prior clean and bitc*** and I would assume disagree with you.
Amazingly enough pulled it off...with that making all the colors an option if done proper with proper breaks, trims, rims of black.

I've seen white 4th gens with white bumpers and it looks ok for the color matching but it's not my thing. I've also seen a red 4th gen with a red bumper but I thought it looked like crap. 4 Runners are hard to accentuate with blinged out rims, bumpers etc... because of the body style in my opinion. Save that shit for pickups and Jeeps. IMO the best color bumper for a Runner is black. A 4th gen that ranges from 2003-2009 is still aesthetically pleasing. Now compare a GC, X5, Xterra,Mercedes and pretty much most other SUVs in that time range and they just look extremely outdated. 4Runners and Porsches just have a certain style that is timeless.

Thank you! I checked out gatorose's page and didn't see an aftermarket bumper on his. I would love to see some actual pics!

Asking $7,500 obo. 201k miles, toytec adjustable lift kit, outdoor logic bumper and sliders, hankook 33's. drivetrain is stout, super quite.

I was thinking any of the blues or dark greys, or that light brown (desert pearl or something like that)... the silver (which is probably the only color I am trying to stay away from would for sure be black)

Yes, cant do a paint job... 25k is the budget to get stock car rigged with bumper, lift, sliders, and tires... no way I can squeeze paint job in there, especially one done right.

plus... even if I did, I'd be stressing on every lil nik and scratch... not cool for a rig! haha

The color was matched pretty well, it just looked very off with a huge red bumper on the front. I've seen pickups with color matched red and those looked good but I think that's because they're so massive the bumper didn't overly stand out. On the 4Runner all I could notice was a huge red hunk of Steele. I think the darker colors like the midnight blue would be easier to pull it off because dark just seems to disappear into the surroundings.

I think the bumper works well with mine because I have a flat top bumper and it's minimalist. Something about the brush guard tends to kill the color matched bumpers for me. The holes & lines that 'appear black' do help break it up. I mostly matched mine because I was tired of black bumpers on white 4Runners and wanted to try it.
