In other news.. Bought this today! I will be painting it silver millennium metallic to match the 4runner. Didn't buy the scoop insert though because it stops the air from coming in. So, to keep dust and junk from entering my engine bay I am going to apply some wire meshing to keep the air coming through.

Nice. I'm really curious how it goes. I've wanted a scoop hood for awhile, but everyone always makes it sound you have find an OEM one, but not sure why.

Hood came today and installed it as well. It went pretty smoothly and only took about 45 minutes. I think it looks awesome and is functional. I am a little upset about a few things. Just for starters, I got 2 days shipping and paid $45 for it. It ended up taking 4 business days (2 days of which were at the warehouse 25 minutes from me). But they handling was also very poor. When I saw the big cardboard box that it came in I was a little worried of the condition of the hood. It looked like the hood was on the bottom of a big stack of things because the box was all beat up.

There are 4 bolts holding on the hood.. 2 on each side go in these brackets

After I got it all mounted and connected the windshield wiper fluid sprayers I couldn't get the hood to close as easy as the OEM hood. But I figured out the trick. And I noticed 2 bad dents.
I believe the one on the corner of the hood I can bend out.. But the one right in the front middle lip is permanent.. I'm a little disappointed that I paid the extra money for shipping and handling and the hood came like this. I'm not going to send the hood back but I will be getting my money for shipping and handling back for sure.
As for the hood scoop... I'm definitely going to have to fab up some sort of wire meshing for the scoop. I have a couple of ideas in mind. I would just buy the scoop insert, but then that defeats the purpose and functionality of the sport scoop.
All and all I'm pretty pleased. I'm definitely upset about the dents but I'll get it to work. Now I just have to get silver millennium metallic paint!

So I have some updates since the summer
To start, My ignition cylinder went bad and was locked. I couldn't turn it without bending the key. But I've dealt with this on other vehicles so I just drilled the old one out and got a new one. The new cylinder came with a new key but they 4runners anti theft knew that it was a new key and didn't allow the EFI to kick in. The starter would spin but never started.
But on the good note, I did get fabtech coilover kit and pro comp rear shocks.
Hit a couple rough spots in the install including bolts that were so rusted on the air wrench couldn't pull them out. But other than that it was pretty straight forward and are very simple to adjust. I have them at about 3.5" of lift and 5.5" total with the body lift. Which led to the other issue that had to be addressed, the body lift bumper gap. I tried a couple different things to try to hide the bumper gap but everything looked off.
So I drilled new holes for the bumper and made new side brackets. I used and 1/4" sheet metal and cut them to make new side brackets and bigger nuts and bolts than
It turned out really well and I'm so happy that the 2" gap

This is an update pic. A lot has changed on the 4runner in the last 6 months. Started doing less wheeling due to lack of time but I have continued to build the 4runner. I also started GTC Retrofits which is my retrofitting business for headlights and tail lights. I do retrofits for all types of vehicles but do more Toyota tacoma and 4Runners than anything.
