Wow, the Saints actually pulled it off. It didn't look good down 10-0 at the start, but then they really started playing aggressively and there was no looking back. That's great for a city that was devastated by Katrina just a short while ago, and a team that has never been to a Superbowl until today.

17 to 31, Saints win. It was actually closer than the score. Colts were down in the 4th quarter by 7 and about 3 minutes left. Manning threw a interception in which the Saints made a touch down. That play was a 14 point shift.
Colts looked really good in the first half. I really thought I was going to see the first overtime Superbowl game.

The Saints really shut down the Colts in the 2nd half and drew Brees was the QB that turned it on late. 29-32 for 261yds after the first quarter while Manning struggled and the loss just adds to Peyton's rep of being a mediocre QB in the post season.
Who would've thought leaving San Diego would've paid off for Brees?

Did you see the game face Manning had when he got off the bus. I thought what a goofy guy. To me it was a little strange.

I am ok ....very dissapointed but allright....Life goes on. LOL
Like Peter78 said ..... it was closer than the score..It was a very close game.. even tho' I missed the whole 3rd quarter and about half of the last quater. When I came back I couldn't believe it . I knew we needed to be ahead at least by 2 touchdowns. But like I told a friend.... this is a Lesson for the Colts Owners, Coach, Players and Fans to understand that even tho' we have the Best QB in the NFL he is not SUperhuman...He can't do miracles. He should have trusted a little more on his running backs like at the beginning of the game instead of trying to force passes. Once again everybody pays for their mistakes and again the Saints Defense won the Game. CONGRATS to The Saints...they deserve it.
PS: I think the COlts need to start looking for a good Wide Reciever ...something as similar as possible to Jerry Rice...LOL...that would be the perfect combo ...He he

Score might have been close but the Colts were outscored 24-7 after the first quarter before the Saints clinching INT TD return;Colts got a bit conservative after they got a 10 point lead and gave the Saints enough momentum.
Right before the half the Colts ran the ball 3 times instead of trying to get a first down and running out the clock but instead gave the ball back to the Saints and they got a FG to pull within 4 points and then the on-side kick recovery to start the 2nd half really got the Saints going.
Good game overall and for once the refs didn't affect the outcome.

Saints played a good game! I'm not really a fan of either but seeing the underdog come out with no super bowl wins had me going for them! I knew they were gonna be a 2nd half scorer along with the colts but dang didn't manning choke up last night....

When you analyze the game (I do,I DVR the SB and watch it again and watch every thing between ESPN and NFL network;I need help) the Colts really didn't execute when they needed to,Reggie Wayne wasn't a factor and dropped some easy catches,Colts only ran 6 plays in the 2nd Qtr,pressure on Brees wasn't there after the 1st Qtr,the Colts played a bit conservative but overall the Saints seemed looser and took a few more calcualted risks and it paid off.
As I look at it they really beat the Colts down fundamentally if now statistically. The only reason the score was close was because Manning is a great QB and kept them in it but his one mistake cost them a real shot at coming back.

I have to agree with you. It was like watching Brett Favre all over agian. Just takes 1 mistake so close in the end when things are already so close.
The Saints used their ability to capitalize and make plays. Freeny(sp?) I do believe was a big factor. If he would have been 100%, the game would have been much more different.
Bush has turned out to be a flop as to what everyone thought he would be IMHO.
Both teams played well and the Saints earned it congratulations to them and if I were Manning that would probably be the only team he would ever feel better loosing agianst in the long run then another.

I think you're drinking the haterade a little over Bush. :biggrin2:
He wasn't really projected to be a feature back but was overhyped and it paid off in his favor but he did have almost a 6yd per carry average this year (albiet he only had 70 attempts) and had another 300yds receiving and 8 total TDs;not stellar but he did make some key plays this season. He's been a solid pick but not worth his asking price but he'll be elsewhere when his contract is up.
Not a fan just sayin'.
I did actually enjoy this Super bowl (hated Steelers/Seahawks) as it had it's exciting moments,was well refereed and the telecast was well done by CBS and kept the celebrity crap (no shots of Bush's gf?) out of it.

Although thats what everyone outside the saints local area may see. I live in South Ms and everyone down here and in new orleans was projected that Bush was gonna be as spectacular as he was with USC and be a premier back. He did show some pretty good carries this year.
He himself has said that he believes he hasn't played on the level he should be. He's just been cruising thru his contract. If he works on himself I think he will be one hell of a player! He still has alot of potential just needs a kick in the butt to get him jump started!

Really whan you step back and look at the game it came down to the Saints played to win and the Colts played to not lose and when you do that you generally lose. The Colts played to conservativley when they needed a big play while the Saints went for the jugular.
Plus resting players may have thrown things a bit out of whack since ijn recent Colt history when they've rested players they've lost and the year they played all 16 games they won the SB.
