Just head a commercial on the radio, the guy was going on about the looks and the way it handles and im like, yeah me too. Then he brings the punch line "I love the gas mileage". What a crock, noone loves the gas mileage, it's something we deal with.

So that's my morning rant, have a great Sunday!

2 wheel drive, TOTALLY babying it. I have done this, "Babied it", and people are on their horns so fast it will make your head spin. The "economical" way of acceleration is soooo slow it is sick, but it does add even on a Trail Edition. I don't baby it too much though, it's just too slow.

Well for a 4500lbs bof SUV it does get good milleage. (compared to let's say, the Tacoma that weight less but get worst milleage)

If gas mileage was the issue, would you really be buying this? Realitive to what kind of vehicle, the power, torque, 4 wheel driver, etc.; the mileage really is quite remarkable.

Mileage is great for what it is. If you buy a big ass suv and expect mpgs, especially a 4x4, you're an idiot.

Mileage was a big factor in me choosing the 4runner. if you drive it reasonably, it out preforms almost every comparable vehicle by a pretty decent margin.

The most linear comparison is a nissan pathfinder. Its about 10% worse on fuel, while putting out 10% less power! That's something I would bring up if I was toyota!

The 4runner has been designed to achieve good mileage, hence all the complaints about it not being powerful, or too slow, etc. The eco light is gimicky, but the modulated accelerator actually does seem to be effective.
