Computer failed causing failed inspection!!

I took my 05 4Runner for inspection today and they said it failed inspection because it could not read from the computer. Apparently the onboard computer is not working at all. They wanted to charge a $45 diagnostic fee + whatever it would cost to fix it. He said it could be wiring or fuses or etc... Any ideas on things I could check and possibly fix myself?

check all the fuses, and make sure ur CEL isnt on.

If the battery died or was disconnected less than 50 miles ago, then u wont pass the inspection ( at least in NY thats how it is). If u reset any codes within 50 miles, u wont pass either ...

u can go check for codes yourself with the free scanner at autozone

Thanks for the ideas.

CEL is not on. The guys at the auto shop mentioned the 50 mile thing but I haven't touched anything and the battery hasn't had any issues that I'm aware of.

I will stop by Autozone and see if they get any readings from the computer with their scanner.
