Computer Problem?

Okay, for the last few years my 2006 T4R's VSC OFF light, Skid Control light, ABS light, and VSC TRAC light, have all illuminated on occasion when cell phones have been plugged in to the DC outlet or during high humidity. However, recently after a deep interior carpet and seat cleaning, the Check Engine light, VSC OFF light, Skid Control light, ABS light, and VSC TRAC lights have all illumination, in addition to no longer having a Data Link connection, and then when the T4R reaches running temperature the engine surges between 500 and 700 rpm while running on 5 cylinders and when depressing the gas pedal, the RPM's will not exceed 3200 rpm. I've disconnected the batter and depressed the brake for one minute. On a singular occasion this caused the engine to run smooth, but only temporarily. Obviously since I cannot obtain a Data Link connection I cannot obtain a OBDI code. Failed computer? Any ideas?

First thing I would do is check the ground terminal circuits on the ODBII plug to make sure they are good. If you can't connect to any of the ECUs, it's going to be tough to identify the exact issue.

Reading your issues again, a bad ground somewhere might cause all of that wackiness. Along with the circuits listed above, I'd check all of your ground points and the battery cables to make sure they are clean and connected.

Yep, stops running on six cylinders. When the engine hits running temperature it drops a cylinder and starts surging. It's like when you pull a spark plug wire on a perfectly running engine, except for the surging.

Are there any mods or aftermarket systems installed on the vehicle?

Have you verified that the 7.5a "OBD" fuse is not blown and that there's good continuity/voltage on the following pins:

Pin 16- "Bat" (Battery Voltage, from 7.5a OBD fuse)
Pin 4- "CG" (Chassis Ground)
Pin 5- "SG" (Signal Ground, it's worth it to verify that it's okay since you're checking the others.)

An OBDII Scantool will not connect with a vehicle is the 12v Supply, Communication Lines, Grounds, and/or other voltage anomalies are present on the DLC3 connector. It sounds almost like you have a bad wire somewhere taking down the network.
