Confused with elocker retrofit gauge cluster wiring 98' 4Runner

Sorry if a thread for this already exists, but I've spent the last hour searching and haven't come across anything. I'm in the final stages of swapping in an elocker axle into my 98' and have been following @timmythetoolman's (huge thanks Tim!) video and a couple threads on here. I'm almost done with finishing up making the harness, but when I went to wire up the dash light indicator (pin #5 according to the video) I already have a pin there? I also saw that I have a connector behind where the diff lock button typically goes in the dash that looks similar to the connector that plugs into the diff lock ECU, however I don't have the wiring for the elocker button.

Does anyone know if the elocker indicator pin plugs into a different spot on a 98' than a 99' gauge cluster? Or is mine partly prewired?

I don't have the answer for you, but the 99 cluster is completely different from the 98 cluster. You need to find info for 96-98 specifically to make it work.

I just started doing a similar mod(with ARB locker) and I have a 98

from what I know the clusters are different

96-97 same
98 unique to 98
99-00 same
01-02 same

I know the trim levels also have some differences but unsure if it matter in the locker pins.

I was out at the junk yard yesterday and pulled the pigtails from a 98 that was factory wired with RR dif lock. The brown and Blue connectors are the ones you need to see from the combination meter.

C10 12 volts brown connector combo meter pin 8 yellow blue(lavendar?) Y−L
C11 ground always blue connector combo meter pin 5 B−Y

Thanks [MENTION=168172]sleepydad[/MENTION], those diagrams were exactly what I was looking for but I wasn't able to find that part of the FSM online. I figured there was probably a difference between the clusters but I wasn't sure. I checked my cluster and I have the ground wire in the diagram already in place, the only wire I'm missing is the indicator wire. I was an idiot I accidentally broke the pin off of the indicator wire and am currently waiting for the new pin to come in though it should be here in the next couple days, I'll update with the results once I get it wired in.

confirmed the indicator is neg- switched, I'm not quite ready to wire mine still waiting on some wire and lugs I ordered.

My apologies for the confusion here, my 4Runner in the Timmy video is a 99 and is indeed different, looks like sleepydad saved the day here.

Quick update, the dealership got the new pins in faster than I was expecting and I just finished up the wiring this afternoon and everything is working great! Huge thanks [MENTION=168172]sleepydad[/MENTION] for the diagram / picture of the connector pin #8 in the brown connector was the right pin for the 98' and the diff light is lit up as soon as it was plugged in.

My apologies for the confusion here, my 4Runner in the Timmy video is a 99 and is indeed different, looks like sleepydad saved the day here.
