A quick word on getting what you pay for:

You’ll see a lot of us using the above vendors and you’ll see a lot of the same brand names used for upgrades: Philips, Morimoto, Osram, Rigid Industries (RI), Hella, XenonDepot, etc…There’s a reason for this. Just like tires, suspension upgrades, and everything else we do to our rigs, you get what you pay for. If a Chinese LED interior lighting set is being sold on eBay 14 bulbs for $20, it’s probably going to start flickering on you about a year or two or maybe sooner after installation. If that’s okay with you, great. Just be aware that if something is priced way below what you see for comparable items, there’s a reason for it.

I've had the Ebay kit for about 90 days now and the plate lights are flickering, especially in the chilly 50 degree FL panhandle weather. I ordered a pair of Phillips to replace them. Anybody else having any issues yet? The interior is sill running strong, and I'm happy otherwise.

I've seen a lot of posts complaining about the longevity on that kit, paired with complete and utter lack of customer service. I hope the interior bulbs go the distance for you. Also, lol @ "chilly" 50 deg. :violin:

XD Low Beam LEDs Installed

Sorry don't have before and after comparison shots. Got these installed today. Tested just now on a busy parkway, didn't get flashed from the opposite side. Also no issues in a drive-through with a compact sedan in front.

Looks like you really need to check your headlight adjustment !

Any recommendations on replacing the stock halogen bulbs with something a little better? Really don't want to go HIDs without a full retrofit but not wanting to do that yet.

Also, I ordered some yellow lamin-x, but would I also benefit from replacing the actual fog light bulbs with yellow bulbs?

Downhill inclines are a very real thing, actually. I'm not convinced the referenced picture actually is a downhill incline. You normally see these in mountainous terrain. I'll try to find a good example and edit this reply.

Saker I read your last post and ended up ordering a Black Oak LED light bar 10 inch double row unit using 5w Osram LEDS.

my vehicle is a 2016 SR5 , I recently changed all my interior lights to LED , also the license plate bulbs (reversed the housings so that they now face inwards towards the plate and not outwards ) the reverse bulbs are 350 lumens each and are very efficient and bright....all my LED bulbs so far are from : superbrightleds.com

I also ordered yesterday the 2700K yellow fog LED from Xenon Depot and also the high beam LED kit from them too...(I did the pin#2 mod in the relay so to disable the DRL's)
I am waiting to get more info about the low beams LED , I understand Xenon Depot has a low beam kit I guess similar to the high beam one and people have mixed feelings about tucking the flexible heat sinks inside the housings and dust covers...
I would really like to hear from more people about their experience with the heat sinks .
my last bulbs to change are the turn signals front and rear and the front side markers, any suggestion on these ?

finally I have a question about the dust covers : a few people are worried about the water tightness of the low beams if the dust cover is modified but at the same time the fogs down low in the bumper have none also the high beams have no such sealed covers , are they not vulnerable to dust or moisture?

would it be possible to drill a hole of sufficient diameter in the dust covers , then pull part of the heat sinks through and and seal around the sinks with clear RTV so that it is easily removable?

Hi folks,
Wanna try to stay w/ the OEM halagen lighting fixtures / housings & wiring if I can to save $. That being said, I find the OEM illumination insufficient.
I was told by my local Pep Boys that they stock replacement upgraded Phillips halagen bulbs that can double the light output as compared to OEM bulbs. This would be close to $200 in bulbs. Are these the best upgraded replacement for the OEM halagen housings & if not are there any better? If none better (i.e. Improved illumination) than these top of the line Phillips, are there any of equal quality & output for less $?

What bulbs are they trying to sell you that are close to $200? Sounds suspicious at best. I wouldn't waste your money. There are absolutely no bulbs you can plug right in for double the performance (for any cost).

It's not the answer you want to hear, but the only way to put more usable light on the road without blinding people is to retrofit in some new projectors designed for HID lighting. Yes, you're looking at $300+ in parts alone, and that's if you're a DIY guy. If you want someone else to do it for you, it will cost even more (but likely will get better results - obviously depends on your skill level and patience to make it work correctly). You get what you pay for.

I wondered about the same thing on the dust covers as well. I have no answer to that.
Yep, fogs & High beams have bulbs into the fixture, no dist cover. All bulbs have O Ring seals....so they should be fine.

As far as the heat sinks thru the cover, I have non answer to that one!
