Control the Rear Window with Key

Does anyone know how to do this or if it is even possible? I asked the dealer last time I was in there and they said they can't program it in so I thought I'd ask on here. I've seen cars where you can do something like hold the unlock button down and it will roll the cars windows down and that would be awesome to be able to do with the rear window. Thanks in advance

Yes, it can be programmed to do that (all the windows). If I remember right it's in the owners manual, and I think someone on here posted a list of what can be programmed by the dealer.

Not with the rear window. If you have an LE, you can hold the down button on the garnish to lower the window. If you have an SR5 or TE, you can use the key to lower and raise the rear window.

I may stand corrected.

[EDIT] I do stand corrected. The owners manual refers to remote opening for the windows and sunroof only.

Thanks for asking this, gus. Ducmonsta, my TE wont do this, is it something I have to have programmed? I got the key-fob setup to roll down all the door windows at the dealership so I know that's doable.

You can only raise and lower the rear window by physically inserting the key into the keyhole on the tailgate. Or use the switch.

Stealers charge for everything. Bypass your service manager, sneak back to the service bays, and talk to the actual mechanic. That's how I had my seat belt chime turned off. The service manager said the could do it but wouldn't because of liability. The mechanic was happy to do it after he saw I wasn't a dumbass who would sue the dealership if I wrecked without my seatbelt on.

Although, I will admit. I would totally drive this. All it's missing is the red stripe that goes up the side of the van.

Mine won't do this (keyhole activation).

Do not know which option is the keyhole operation for the rear window. But, I gather it's available but must be programmed. The dealer did program my door windows to go down with the key-fob. I like that feature, and they did it for free.

Not sure if you've really got your question answered. You didn't mention year and model, so it may vary. My base level 2014 SR5 does this from day one, without programming. You just have to turn the key and hold it (ccw to lower, cw to raise IIRC).

It's the "Door Key Linked Back P/W UP and DOWN" option.
