Hope that helps. So if you want 285's you will need new wheels and do a little bit of trimming on the plastic but nothing important or major.

with such little amount of rubbing that 04runner gets with his 275/70-17 mtr's, i'm willing to say that the goodyear wrangler silentarmor of the same size will fit without a problem (since it's .4" smaller iirc). however, i haven't seen any others running these two tires on the stock rims and i'm not sure that i'm willing to be a giunea pig to test it out. right now, i'm leaning towards getting bfg all terrain and daystar lift. i still have time to think it through. a tiny bit of tread remaining + great weather. i hate it that i'm so picky :bash: ...

ftbjoe87, I like the look of those wheels on your 4Runner. Is it possible to make a daylight picture?
 
Yah Ill get a day time photo. Its been raining for a couple months here in Corvallis, OR so it might be a little while before I get some good day time ones. Im gonna try to go off roading here in a couple of weeks and will snap some then. Thanks for posting them.

if it's not too much trouble, can you take some side shots? i'd like to see how much the wheels stick out the wheel wells.

I have to assume this decreases the droop travel of the shock 3". Any comments from users or cornfed about this issue? thanks...

The front is OK, but rear became stiffer. I'm working out on the way to lower the rear shock without modifying the mounts, so it can be changed back if I would be selling the vehicle and will be removing the spacers.
 
i see, thanks for the reply.

I was thinking the same thing...would be nice if the spacers could move the shock attachment point down as well as the spring...

Let us know what you come up with for repositioning the rear shock mount. I am planning on designing a removeable insert to lower the upper shock mounts 2 inches. This really needs to be part of the lift kit package. If I come up with something successfull I will let you know.

Since installing the lift kit, the rear is not as compliant. Very noticeable over speed bumps. The VSC also activates occasionally when the rear hits a big dip/bump during a turn. I would assume that the xreas is also affected since the rear shock is extended 2 inches from the unlifted position and the front is extended 1".

I hope getting the rear shock back to the stock neutral position will make a significant improvement.

BTW, I lived it TO for a few years. Downtown near St. Lawrance market. Great city. I had way too much fun but missed the Rockies and had to get back to CO.

I've done some math calculations and come up with theory that if 2
 
I thought the rear lift was 2.5", but I just checked my notes and it is 2". I also measured the effective rear lift after installation and it was 2". Since the shock is on a slight angle, shouldn't the shock have extended a little more than 2" (although probably not enough to worry about)? Or was there some major rotation in the axle that raised the lower shock mount?

It's geometry. The shock has upper mount on the side of spring central line, so it some sort of a triangle. By calculating the delta in length of one side if we extend the other one by 2" and remain the third one as it was before, you'll come up with number 1.5. There is no rotation in the axle and there is nothing that can raise the lower mount.
