Cost of OEM Coils!? ($$$)

Are these prices inflated or am I just losing it?

I have a 99' limited.

Rear (48231-35210) - $111/Each

It it really over $460 for a new set of OEM coils or am I just not looking in the right places?
At these prices if the dealer did the install on coils and shocks you could walk out of there with a $1,000 - $1,500 invoice.

That sounds about right, at least for the rears. I put 99 rear coils on my 2000 and I remember paying in the neighborhood of $200. Check Camelback Toyota. Their prices may be a little better and they ship for next to nothing.

They are definitely cheaper from Camelback but it will still total up to around $350 or so.

I paid about $212 for my rears. Sounds about right. The ride quality is so worth it.

For double the price you could get the OME set up with coils and springs go for it

Eibach coils are $170 both.

Rear super flex coils are $200

But I like having lidted truck.

You could get OME 906s in the rear which are almost the same height as '99 talls unloaded (but much better with weight) for like $170 the pair. Just saved you $100 and improved your truck. (I had the talls stock, so I know.)

Check with Toytec :http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/OME-890-Coils_p_800.html I have OME 890's on my 96 and Toytec Superflex on my 08 and they both ride better than stock and the Superflex from Toytec really do flex very well

Or you could be like me and get an inexpensive pair off Ebay/Rock Auto. I paid $50 for a pair of Raybestos coils. They are not luxury ride but they are a little stiffer than stock (what I wanted) and are light years ahead of those tired worn out coils with 190k miles that I replaced. Very happy with how it turned out considering the price. I got 4 new coils, new struts and new shocks for about $250 all together and it rides quite nice. Not OEM perfect, but pretty darn good.

The superflex on my 08 is a good bit better the the OME 890s on my 96

I'm sure they are. If I get a chance I will be putting a set of Superflex in the 96 though. OME's might handle weight better incase you are going to be adding a bumper up later.

Probably not. After the lift I think I will just do sliders and that's close to all.. Maybe lol. You know how that goes. I do hate how low the rear tow package hangs down like 4-5 inches and having the spare down there... But I like my rear visibility too. I will keep the OME set up a bit and if it just doesn't work for me I may swap but I imagine it'll be fine as I am used to an xterra with worse everything besides power.

I really like the Whitson Metal works rear tube bumper with the receiver built in, but not sure if he makes them yet

It's going to flex just fine... trust me
