Costco says they won’t install a 265/70-17 load range C BFG KO2

Interesting. Aloha let me buy a split set once (different wheel widths front and rear) and refused to install them (front tires were essentially new), and then I bought a square set that they wouldn’t install because the car came with staggered widths from the factory. Bastards.

Also Ivan Stewart used them in the late 80s and early 90s while driving a Toyota so that means they are still the best option today even though they haven't changed. :banana:

Im looking to upgrade the tires on my recently lifted 4Runner. And I’m thinking to go with 265/70-17 BFG KO2s in a load range C, to keep the weight down and for better handling. However, when I checked with Costco, the sales advisor told me that they won’t install those tires on my 4Runner since they are a load index 112S. My factory Bridgestone H/Ts are are load index 113S, and Costco says they’re not allowed to install a tire that has a lower load index than my factory tires.

Anyone else ever experienced this at Costco?

So f_ck em. I got discount tire to price match anyone (Walmart in my case), and most other large tire places will do the same. They put my 33's on, no ignorant questions asked.

I’ve been using BFG ATs since the 90s with no issues. I’ve got 60,000 miles on my current set on my 4Runner and they’ve performed great in all conditions.

I probably got another 10,000 miles on them.
