Couple Questions

I have a 2006 4runner with the v6 4wd sport. First I want to improve the gas mileage, is a K&N or AFE intake and exhaust worth it or not? Second what is everyone using to black out their emblems? I have seen many people using the plasti-dip, but I don't want the flat look i want more of a gloss...any suggestions?

Thanks

I've read mixed opinions on the cold air intakes. I think the best bet is to keep your lead foot from hittin the gas too hard, haha.

:iagree: The best way to improve gas mileage is drive with a light foot and keep your truck well maintained. As for the intake question, you could always buy the Volant CAI and if it doesnt improve your mileage ill buy it of you at a good price :D.

For your emblems, I don't see why you could just use a glossy spray paint. If you prep the emblems properly and use quality paint, I would think it would be as durable as plasti-dip.

Common misconception, intakes will NOT usually get you better fuel mileage. Maybe a little boost in HP but not usually in MPG. Think of it this way, your T4R has a computer to provide the best fuel to air ratio for the best performance. An intake will increase the air in, meaning more fuel needed to get the same ratio, making MPGs worse.

The fact that people like the sound of the intake when they put there foot into it doesn't help either.

You bought an SUV, fuel mileage is going to suck no matter what you do. Suck it up or buy a 4cyl econobox.

And I think this is my last question...when I hit the unlock button on my remote, my horn honks. Is there a way to disable this?

The actually horn honks then it beeps. I know that all of them beep when you unlock them, but i don't know why my horn honks when i hit unlock

Also keep an eye on your tire pressure too, low tires = worse mileage, unless of course you're trying to drive in soft sand, mud, etc. Otherwise, keep 'em aired up to spec!
