crank bolt torque help

I'm not sure I got the bolt to 217 lbs. Is it possible to drain the radiator, remove the fan and remove the bolt and then re torque it? Or do I have to tear it all the way down to the belt? I'm trying to save some time. If I have to remove the drive belts and timing covers I will. Anybody know if I can do it?

It would probably be more accurate torque if you remove everything from the pulley and redo it, but I don't think it's necessary at all. Depending on what you're using to torque the bolt, you don't even have to remove much of anything. It might help to pull the fan shroud and fan and take whatever drive belts are in the way of getting a chain wrench on the balancer. After that, I'd set a torque wrench to 220 and call it a day.

Thanks for your input. I ended up removing the fan and leaving the belts in place. I made a tool using a piece of LVL lumber and 2 - 3/8" grade 8 bolts to hold the HB in place. The tool worked great. I had a few other things to do today so I'm just filling it up with Super Long Life. Hopefully all is well. Thanks to the Durk for the tool idea.
