How about the oil pan? Can I do the pump cover and the oil pan later if necessary after it’s all back together?

Before all this work, did you have an idea where the oil was leaking from? Where was it dripping down primarily under the vehicle? Like I said in my earlier post, you don't really want to remove the oil pan if you can help it. It's a lot of work because you have to remove the front differential.

I think you should replace the crankshaft and camshaft seals, put it all back together and then see if you are still leaking oil. If you are still leaking, hopefully it's not from the oil pan. Just clean up everything on the engine as well as you can so it will be easier to spot the leak. You can also add a UV dye to your oil and use an ultraviolet light and special glasses to help you spot the leak.

If your oil pan is leaking, use the video below to help you pull the front diff. Since shooting the video, we did learn a trick to make getting the diff out easier. If you disconnect the driver side motor mount and lift the engine a bit, you'll gain more room to get the diff out and back in. I also included our motor mount and trans mount replacement video so you can see how we disconnected the motor mounts and supported the engine.

You'd only want to remove the oil pump if it failed. You can remove the oil pan without removing the oil pump. The oil pan seals up with the bottom of the oil pump on the front of the motor below the crankshaft.

Well, I want to replace the crank and cam seals and put it back together but after seeing the seals, I’m pretty convinced that they were not leaking- which means it’s leaking from somewhere else. If that somewhere else is an area I need to have the t belt off to get to, I’d rather seal that now than take everything off again. I am not a mechanic and doing this in a garage that will be getting significant colder soon too[emoji853]
It is very hard to tell where it’s leaking from. It drips off of the different parts but seems to be toward the front. I was convinced it was going to be the crank seal but looks like no such luck. I hate F’ing leaks but may just put it back together and park in the street all winter- not a great solution but getting sick of this in my wife’s spot in the garage [emoji35]

It also really seemed to leak worse when I backed it up in the driveway and let it run while I loaded it up. I think the slight downward tilt made it leak worse but can’t be positive.

It's not wet with oil where the seal meets the crankshaft so it looks like it might be fine. But, we're talking about a very affordable seal. I say pull that sucker out and replace it unless you're not confident in your ability to do it. I know you're following the video we made. Did you buy the Lisle seal removal tool? That seal comes out and goes in very easy. I think you might be kicking yourself if it ends up leaking and you had the chance to replace it.

The front of your motor is coated with gunk. Definitely take the opportunity to clean up a lot of that with some degreaser before putting it all back together.
