Crossed Jumper Cables--no brakes, all maintenance lights on and beeping

Well guys I bought a new ABS control module complete bolt on assembly off ebay used. Came in last night, so I installed it and it fixed it as far as I can tell. Put the fuse in and it didn't blow. Made a buzzing sound when I first turned it on but it works fine. All of the lights went out with the exception of the maint light which I searched the forum and ended up clearing it out also. What's funny is the brakes feel fine and I didn't even bleed them. Seems to stop fine but makes a slight buzz when I press the brakes. I assume this is normal?

The TPMS light seems to be stuck on but I'm gonna do the trick I saw on here to disable it tonight.

though the slight buzz it makes when u brake..isnt so good . you shudnt be able to hear it with your engines on.. unless your truck is 03/04 which i heard makes very loud buzzing noise... on my 05 its pretty quiet, unless the engine is off and hood open....i cant hear any buzzing

I didn't check on dealer price but from reading online, it seems they go for about $1500. I can't hear the buzzing much anymore, it's quieted down but after the rain today I did notice that the intermittent wiper settings do not work. Not sure if this had something to do with the jumper cables being hooked up backwards, possibly I assume. They still work on low and high just not intermittent and the rear wiper doesn't work at all. I'll plug at it this afternoon. I wouldn't think a switch replacement would be that much.

for the rear,, hv you done the rear windshield reset?..hold the down button to lower the glass to the bottom,,, then hold up again to raise the glass to close.....this shuold reset the system and allow your rear wiper to work

I unfortunately did the same thing last night. Was wondering if you have had any more issues once you replace the MC assembly and if you think that it could be fixed without replacing the entire assembly

I installed battery backwards in mine some years ago, was dark and I was in a hurry, was my anniversary...well I had to replace several computers, lukily budy in my church has a shop he helped me a lot.... had to buy several used refurbed comps, main comp and throttle body, had to pull whole electrical system to do it, took several months.....if he wasn't a friend it would not have been cheap.....

This might be a dumb question but shouldn't the electronics come with some sort of diode that would prevent electricity from flowing the wrong way?

Similar Issue - Please help!

Hello, I am new to the forum and really hoping you guys can help me out. I have a 2009 Lexus GX470, which I believe is built similarly to the Toyota 4Runner. I posted on a Lexus forum awhile back, and no one reached out to help unfortunately. I am having pretty much exactly the same problem as the original poster. It was jumped in reversed, symptoms are the same, and the ABS MTR fuse blows when replaced. I am trying to figure out a procedure to discover where the fault is. I read some of the replies and I am getting some good info, but some of the advice doesn’t make sense to me, maybe because there as some differences between the two cars. If anyone is able to offer some vehicle specific advice on how to troubleshoot this, I would appreciate it so much. I think one thing I may have to do is disconnect and test the skid control ECU. One poster was talking about disconnect the ABS MTR relay, but I only see a ABS MTR fuse in the diagram.

Any ideas?

As I am fixing to tackle this same issue, I'm curious. Did the new part hold up? Also, did you have a good video on changing them out?
