Hi Guys...
Wanted to put this out there and get some input...either good or bad, I just appreciate the honesty.
Several weeks ago we discussed the Rola Roof Rack with extension(s) and I offered up some pictures. I found a Rola on Craigslist for 40$, and purchased the other two extensions for about 60$ a/p.....so to date that's an investment of 160$...not to bad.
At the time of the thread I only had one extension, but after further review, I decided I wanted a second extension to bring the rack out to the full length. I happen to like the Rola design, and feel it lends itself nicely to the 4Runner's lines. Although I also like the flat rack designs, I feel they don't "follow" the curvature of the roof line. Obviously, I know why the manufacturers do it...I would just like to see a bit of bow so it doesn't appear so flat..but again, that's just me.
So I spot welded the pcs. together, and measured the bow in the roof, and think I have it pretty close now. Before I put the final welds to it, I figured I'd put it out here to get your opinions. I will still need to weld support feet in the front, but this should give you an idea.
