Hey that's a really clean sub install. You still digging the bass out of it ? Have you made any adjustments or mods since the install ? I'm looking and scratching my head about making something similar. I have an older Sony Xplode box in my Runner and it just takes up to much precious space .

yeah it works great. I havent touched it sense i put it in. i think if i was gonna go back and do anything, i would try and make the box a little bit bigger and put a 8 incher in replacing the 6 but it doesnt bother me at all. if i want to feel it a little i can just turn it up.

i dont have any pics of it, but if you look at this pic, there is a shiny bolt to the bottom right of the box. There is a piece of angle Al that bots to that one point and also another on the pinch weld on top of the fender. i drilled and tapped the Al. If you take the sub out of the box, it bolts down to the piece of Al.

this looks great. did you line the inside with anything? I bet if you put dynomat or fake-dynomat in there it would make a huge difference.

How much of a pain in the ass is it to remove that panel ? How did you fasten the box you made inside , to the plastic panel ?

my truck is all packed cuz im leaving for mammoth tomorrow but its just bolted down to the angle aluminum i put in.

ok i took the driver out for you so you can kind of see. Turns out i sealed everything is silicone and im going on a 5 hour drive tomorrow so the tunes will be cranked, didnt want to risk it not getting sealed properly again so i did not take the actual box out.
Anyway here are some of the pics. As you can see, in the bottom of the box there are a couple of bolts (covered in silicone) which bolt directly into the peice of angle aluminum i bolted to the body. hopefully these help.

FWIW, this isn't mind, but I found this on one of the forums a few years ago. Same concept as you..
I'd definitely go the same route as you guys if I were to do that.
I want to cry. That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. (Minus that JL W1V2. Terrible sub, other than the looks)

when i get home at the end of the week ill pull my whole box out. the side panel is NOT the box. there is a .25^3ft box i built out of MDF behind the panel.
