Custom Trail Emblem Made

STL File?

I either suck at searching or missed it. Can you post the .stl file so I can print it at home?

Rough Plastic

So I bought three of the white strong and flexible plastic badges. Primed, painted each a different color, picked a color, repainted all the same color, bought adhesive, can't sleep so excited to install, dropped one and it shattered, utterly pissed, back on the horse and....now I'm stressing that these feel really, really gritty and might collect mud and be difficult to clean. Given they are a lighter metallic gray, it might start to discolor.

So, I pose the question...has anyone bought the plastic ones and had dirt and grime stick and become difficult to clean off?

I've had mine on for a while and definitely got them dirty... It always comes off... Mine are plastidip'd

I have the 3D printed black one on my truck, get it dirty, power wash it off. No issues. Attached to the car with 3M double sided body tape.

Seriously? I have only gotten copies made in black strong and flexible. I have a couple extra prints sitting on my desk and they have been knocked off, kicked, stepped on, ect without issue. Not to mention the other three I abused pretty regularly while I decided on the best way to coat them. Little surprised, they are after all supposed to be strong and flexible.

Did you heat them up or hit them with any strong solvents or something similar?
 
Just ordered a set for my TEP. I've got several things ordered for it and its still a few weeks away from even getting it......I think I feel an addiction starting.
 
I ordered four emblems yesterday. Cant wait to get them?

Question though...I ordered the black and flexible...Do I need to paint them if I planned on keeping them black?

I was surprised as well, I had them hanging in the garage, about three feet off the ground, to spray paint them. I was taking one down and fumbled it, hit the garage floor and shattered. Granted, I think it hit right on the point of the "T" going totally vertical and it broke at the connection between the "T" and the "R". Then I thought, that was weird, so I dropped it again on purpose and it broke into more pieces.

They weren't heated and I only used Krylon spray primers/paints. They had been in the garage for several days during painting and it was probably in the 50's during the nights.

Of the three I painted, the best looking one broke. The other two are kinda spotty, not uniform in color, some spots look like they absorbed the paint and look matte, rather than other spots that look metallic. Granted, user error could be the culprit but I wanted to blame it on the plastic. Combined with the gritty texture I was leaning towards ordering the metal badges, but I don't want to spend $200!!

Good to know, thanks. It is strange, it is my understanding that White Strong & Flexible is the base product for all of the colored versions. Out of curiosity sake, maybe send an inquiry to shapeways and see what they have to say.
 
Not UV resiatant.!

UPDATE: the only issue I've had with mine are that the color fades quickly from UV exposure. The passenger side emblem is now a faded seafoam green. Luckily, I like that color, but I highly recommend spraying them with a moisture and UV resistant clear coat before applying or choosing a plasti-dip color of your choice and spraying with that. I still love the product, and would buy again.

Badges on today

Trail Badges went on today. I hit them with some flat black rustoleum, so hopefully they won't fade quite as fast.

looks good :) I have only plasti-dipped so the results have been pretty predictable. Please update you see any changes.
