Partner Steel Stove

Ordered a Partner Steel Stove. My plan is to somehow integrate this into my existing drawer system.

For those of you not familiar with Partner Steel, look them up. Made in the USA! Awesome product based on my research. A little difficult to stomach the price though...

Nice ride man :)

Good choice! All the river rats I know swear by them. :)

Btw, out of curiosity, who makes that storage drawer you have?

Nice acquisition!

I just emailed Hefty to see if they can fabricate a front and rear bumper for my 4Runner. Might have to make a 24 hour drive down!

Good to stumble upon...

Jasper Banff Trip

I took a trip from Fort McMurray to Edmonton (1 night hotel), Edmonton to Jasper (1 night tent), Jasper to Lake Louise (2 nights tent) and Lake Louise back to Fort McMurray.

It was the first real trip taken with the 4R, so we took it easy. Not too much opportunity for off-road since this area is predominantly national parks. Weather was rainy and we still had a good time. It felt like a good trip to iron out some wrinkles before doing a longer trip consisting of off-road adventures. Some key learnings:
1. ARB Awning is AWESOME!
2. Tiptronic in the mountains was very much appreciated!
3. Make sure your partner steel stove has the right fitting for 1lb propane tanks (I had to learn the hard way).
4. Little Buddy by Mr. Heater is fantastic for fall camping trips especially if it's raining.
5. Having a large storage container (Rubbermaid action packer 181L) on the roof rack was very handy for two reasons: keep the truck clutter free and pack up quickly in the rain.
6. Yeti coolers are awesome, still had ice un-thawed after the trip (4.5 days)

For those of you interested in gas mileage, I averaged ~15L/100km (15.7 MPG)

Here are some pics:

New M101-CDN Expedition trailer

Picked this trailer up a couple weeks ago. It's built nicely. I'll get some pictures of some of the other details later. Some of the features:

-Pelican case swingout (for kitchen stuff)
-Winched Rooftop Tent platform
-Sealed lid on gas struts
-Extended 'tongue' for extra storage
-Lifted, 33" tires, shocks
-Propane tank
-Onboard water system (80 litres) with electric water pump
-Deep cell celltower battery
-Inverter

Me and some friends are planning a 2 week expedition so this should definitely help!

Pull out table tray

I've always wanted a table that I can use for my camp stove, something easy to setup, compact, lightweight and strong. I built this contraption out of 3/16" aluminum plate, aluminum angle, two sets of lee valley 200lbs drawer slides and a random piece of aluminum 'ramp' material I found. It was a PITA to build, but I really like the outcome so far. Now we'll see if it puts up with the harsh conditions i'll throw at it.

can you take a few more pics of where the maglite is mounted? I have a set of quick fists and was planning on doing similar, just want to see more of where yours ended up

How is the cargo caddy holding up? I heard a few people complain about sagging up top. Looks like you have a fair amount of weight riding on top of it.

Added toggle latch clamps to rear bumper

The Hefty Fabworks bumper doesn't have the greatest design for holding the swingout arms down. Sometimes they will 'bounce' and I can hear it, and it annoys me! I decided to install some latch clamps, which are stainless steel. I drilled holes in the bumper and tapped them. Then used stainless steel bolts to secure them to the bumper.

No issues whatsoever probably because I have plywood on top which strengthens it.

Finally caved and bought a rooftop tent. I got the tepui gran sabana. Tried it out for the first time on the weekend - it's massive! I was using my Tacoma since I'm still in the process of rebuilding my shocks. Finally got them filled yesterday. Should be reinstalled sometime this week.

Love your setup man, I bought mine after most of the mods had been done as well (not as much as yours though). Patience is the best virtue when purchasing car. Props to you on getting what you wanted.

Thanks. Keeping it maintained and adding my personal touches and improvements keeps me busy enough! I'm glad I didn't start from scratch.
