dash lights

ok I know how stupid this is going to sound, but, are these lights in the dash in all models, I got my 97 sr5 brand new but have never seen these in my dash, does the sr5 not have them or have mine just never worked. believe it or not after 16 years I just now noticed this. talk about not paying attention,

I think that's only on a 99-02 dash. My '96 auto doesn't have it.
