Dashboard light up like a Christmas tree

Hey all, hope all is well an happy. So just a quick question for yea all.

I got a flat tire, so I changed the spare over and no issues. Except for all the lights on the dash. Is this because of the chance the spare is a different size or air pressure issue?

When I was purchasing tires they wouldn't put on different tires (my spare was a different brand) because of the monitoring system. Said if the treads and size were different it would screw with the on board system.

With that being said, In order for the dash to clear. I'd would have to get 4 new tires? I assume once I do it'll all clear. I'm guessing just new rears wouldn't do.

Wait until someone else chimes in. I don't really know if I have the solution. You could have something completely different.

So I drove the Runner around today, after about 1hr on the road all the lights turned off after I parked and turned it off. The only warning on my dash is the tire pressure.

I assume there's only 4 tire pressure sensors, so having the full sized spare on that doesn't have the sensor is what's causing the tire pressure warning.

Or does my factory rim/spare tire have the sensor in it? Anyways I guess new rubber all around will clear that all up.

I've actually read some guys here having problems with their spare tire making the TPMS light go on so there might actually be 5.

5 sensors, that's nuts. Doesn't surprise me, Toyota rarely cheeps out. I guess replacing all will tell the tail.

The spare has a sensor as well. I just sold a set of old rims and tires and had the sensors removed out of all of them before. The spare used to set my TPMS off all the time.
