Daystar 2.5/1.5 going in(WOOHOO/YIKES!)

I am finally pulling the trigger on the daystar 2.5/1.5 on my 06 ltd. Booked the install with a local shop that is familiar with Xreas. I've sent him all the links from here regarding issues/difficulties with install to the point where I think I may be irritating him a bit.

Really looking forward to:

-The added ground clearance
-The look of a more level truck

Kinda feakin about:

-How it will look with stock tires (they came brand new with the truck last month and there's no way I'm dropping another $800+ on new tires)
-the dynamics of the ride changing (I love the way it rides right now)
-whether or not my wife will notice :whip2:

Your wife will definitely notice. Especially when she tries to get in. I had a 3/2ish life awhile back, and I thought my stock tires looked fine. The 70 series is too small of a difference IMO to warrant $800.

I installed Cornfed 3/2 spacer lift on my '06 V6 Limited and kept the stock wheels and tires... They look fine and drives the same. Here is a pic.

The stock tires usually do look a bit smaller when you have a lift of that size or bigger. When the time comes for new tires, I'm quite sure you'll decide to go with a bigger tire that look right for the lift. In the meantime, you'll just have to live it I guess.

The ride will definitely change, but it is more because of the rear lift than the front.

And if your wife doesn't notice, I'll be very surprised. You gotta let us know on that one!

How much are you paying if you don't mind me asking...I've been wanting the same lift and wanted to know what to expect while shopping around for a place to install. Anyone in the SF Bay Area that can recommend a place?

About $500 all in including the alignment. Though we seem to pay a bit more for things like this up here in Canada.

I got my lift done for $336 including alignment...Glad I am down here :driving:I believe because mine is 2wd it is an easier installation.

No, that's for everything-parts ($180-this is def. more than it would cost in US), labour ($210-3 Hrs., seems fair from what I've read), alignment ($100)

Oh ok..not too bad.....

I went with adjustables bilstein shocks on the front. Initially I was going with the same set as you .
My setup parts and labor was $560.00 cheaper than other places that wanted to charge me above $650

Just ordered my DayStar kit. With kit, install, and alignment will be $365.00. Looking forward to it!!

I'd love to do this as well, hate the rake on the truck but I love the way it drives now and don't want to mess it up... please report back on that.

(I'd be staying with stock-sized tires as well as they are near-new)

Tommorow's the big day! Here's a couple of before pics from the last couple of days up north. Did great in some early spring mud and washed out roads. Definitely would have been impassable in my previous car.

I just got mine done last week and I love it. No change in ride quality at all.

Well, it's done and I have to say I am VERY happy with the results. It took me about 5 mins to get used to the new look but now I love it. I noticed no difference in ride quality-drove it fast over a bunch of speed bumps and purposely hit some pot holes and it still rides great. I think it looks just fine with the stock tires, but will put next size up when I replace them. Thanks to users AlexJet and 4x4v8 for recommending SKI at CT motorsports who did the install of the lift and the rear dif breather. Here's a before and after pic:

Looks great and glad to hear you tested it over speed bumps for me! I'm going to be ordering mine after asking around lately how it rides over bumps with XREAS. Let me know what your wife thinks of the step in height now for me too please.
