DC Sports Exhaust Tip (photos)

I wasn't too fond of the stock exhaust look on our new 2013 LE, so I spent an afternoon looking at my options at the local auto parts stores as well as an exhaust shop. The exhaust shop wanted a hefty $50+ for their available stainless steel tips but they would also need to be welded on. I ended up finding a reasonable priced universal DC Sports tip at Advanced Auto Parts for around $25. I borrowed Advanced Auto's muffler cutting tool (part of their tool rental) and trimmed back the stock tip about 1 inch. This allowed me to slide the new tip a little further back to get the look I desired.

The new tip has a built in resonator but the sound change is far from noticeable. Since it's easily removable, it can be taken off if we were to get wild on a trail. Anyhow, here are some photos.

P.S. For any SS or chrome accents, bumpers, or exhaust tips, this stuff works best to polish out any imperfections. Also, please disregard my trailer lights extension and the ugly hitch cover.

Looks a lot better with the rear bumper valence on the early 5th Gens. My 14 has the factory tip and it looks dumb in my opinion. Can't wait to rip it off on a trail.

That looks really good. The bare exhaust on mine bugs me. How's it held on? Allen bolt? Is the sound change like a bee buzzing, rice frying, or throaty?

I went to eBay and there's a variety of DC tips. Can you point to the one you purchased so I don't have to put any thought into this project? TIA

I believe the tip I used is the EX-1013. It is a resonated tip, but I couldn't find a non resonated tip locally that I liked. I also couldn't hear any difference in the sound. There are 3 clamps used to secure the tip.
