De-Badge Rear Toyota "T" Emblem

Hey guys,

I have a 1999 4Runner SR5 and I was going to spend today de-badging the emblems off my 4Runner. Well, I kinda ran into a speed bump and I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this. I used the hair dryer, fish line, and Goo Gone method to get rid of the "T" on the back of my 4runner and I don't know how to get rid of the pins that centered in without leaving a whole in my body!

I attached a picture for you guys to see exactly what I'm talking about. And I'm aware of the scratches I made, I wasn't careful and now I'm going to have to fix them! Any help would be appreciated (with the removing of the two pins and if you want to tell me a nice, cheap scratch remover too!). Thanks!

Pull the pins, weld the holes, grind smooth, repaint.

OR put the badge back on.

Ah it's going to be that much work? Well, due to my foolishness, I wasn't careful with the "T" and it managed to snap into two pieces. Where could I pick up another one for pretty cheap?

That's why you rarely see that badge removed but locating another is your best option since the body work would cost you.

Why do people spend so much time messing with the badges on their rig? I really don't get it. There is about three trillion things I will do to mine before I even think about the badges.:hiding:

Some people don't realize that having access to sweet shop tools, wholesale priced materials, and know how...aren't things that everyone posesses......

These same people don't realize, that not everyone has the funds or wants to mod their truck to off-road, or be fast (supercharged).

Emblem changes, are a cheap, and easy mod that can be done with relative ease...and is something that will change the appearance of someone's rig. A mod that is useless for off-roading....but one that O.P wanted to do.

Don't bust his chops for attempting to do a badge mod man.....praise him for going outside and tinkering with his rig!

I can show you a few folks on here who have painted their emblems "Black Pearl" are you gonna chastize them too??
