Dealer Couldnt Program Roll Up windows with Fob

Just like the subject says. Toyota of redlands couldn't program roll up with my key Fob. They claim roll up only works while locking the doors via the key hole. Is this the case or is the dealer pulling my leg for some safety factors?

Windows can only be put down with factory remote. Somewhere someone probably knows why, but the reasoning escapes me.

I bought the cable and software and I went through everything and couldn't do it. I just use the key for up, and the remote for down. It also doesn't effect the rear window at all, up or down, just the side windows.

My dealer did that for me before I had bought the cable. It tells you right in the owners manual you can do it. It's a dealer choice. I just told them my dog sets it off when I harness him into the passenger seat (which happens to be true). Before that, I just kept one of the free seat belt extenders plugged in.

FWIW I shopped 3 different Toyota Dealers before making a purchase and all 3 were willing to do this for me. It's also worth noting that none of the salesperson knew it was possible and all of them had to go talk to service to make sure they could get it done.

I just got mine programmed yesterday - was told the same thing that the windows can only roll up via key hole NOT fob.

FWIW I shopped 3 different Toyota Dealers before making a purchase and all 3 were willing to do this for me. It's also worth noting that none of the salesperson knew it was possible and all of them had to go talk to service to make sure they could get it done.

well you are in NY.... they pretty much do what the hell they want up there lol

My dealer did say they don't like to do it, but I gave them a plausible reason. Just tell them you carry a big briefcase on the seat all the time.

The anti-jam function is supposed to stop it before it cuts the head off completely... then again I'm no sticking my arm in the window to test the anti-jam function.
