Dealer whammie on yaw tire sensors

Recently stopped by my dealer with maint and tire lights on. I, wanted the dealer to reset the maint light and explain why the low air pressure light was on. They managed to reset the maint light, but could not get the tire pressure light to reset. They dropped the spare, etc. After hooking up the computer laptop and trying to reset, they did get the light to go out.
However, after pulling out of the lot, the VSC lights came on along with the air pressure light. Now they tell me I will have to spend $1200 on new sensors. Of course the lights never came on until they screwed with it. They say it is coincidence. I having a real hard time eating this! Has anyone any info on The C1336 error code, which says the yaw rated sensor is shorted out?

They probably jacked up one of the sensors when they were messing with it. I would just raise hell to the general service manager. :bash: What a bunch of crooks.

That's the main reason why I never take my truck to the dealer, because they might fix the main problem but will screw up something else in the process. I honestly think the only few mechanics out there that do care, the rest do not give shit about you're ride.

Crooks, I went in to have the rear pads replaced for $189, which are lifetime free replacement. I thought that was kinda high but lifetime sounds good. About an hour later the service writer appears in the waiting room and says that I will also need new rotors for $289 more dollars.

I said the rear pads were at 4mm last time I was in and was told no problem, just have the pads replaced in the next few visits. They wanted to charge me over $500 for brakes on one axle!

I bitched and told them Midas would do everything for half that and how did they determine my rotors needed to be replaced when at the last visit they said everything was ok. 'You won't get Toyota quality by going to Midas', they asked. I asked, 'what quality?'

I drive like an old lady, so having to replace the rear rotors with only 73K miles is ridiculous, I threatened to pull all future business and they immediately took off $100.

I think I will goto Firestone or Goodyear for my basic maintenance stuff in the future.

Depending on what year Runner and what warranty you have, the Yaw Sensors...or any other sensors for that matter...should be covered.
