December 7th Snow Run, Cleghorn to Arrowhead.

I always fuel up at Chevron off the 138, then head south to the trailhead. We are meeting AT THE TRAILHEAD at 0800. Multiple meeting points will cause confusion.

I was just trying to point out, for other members here who are like me and have no idea how to find that location.

I wanted to suggest that the organizer simply put instructions on where to go in the first post.

I don't consider myself dumb but I really wouldn't be able to find the trailhead unless it is marked on a map (what map) or available through some type of driving instructions. Example "go to Pikes Peak campground, and follow the road 1 mile to the trailhead"

That is why I suggested some kind of local business meetup or gas station. Don't expect any changes for me but I was just trying to point out that locations you can locate at least over the internet are optimal.

I hope you guys have a good trip. I won't be able to make this one as I am saving my gas money for the death valley trip later this month.

I hope to get up to big bear again soon though. I think we met once before in Big Bear ElGringoLoco ... Hope all is well.

I think the confusion is that this is not a normal type trailhead. The exit of the 15 frwy east side is the trailhead. There is noway not to find it.

Still trying to clear my schedule. Have to be somewhere at 7:30am and be there by 8:00am. It takes me over 1hr on dry pavement. Sat calls for rain, so a bit longer. I'll keep you posted.

I'm in and I am bringing another (experienced/extremely lifted) t4r with me.

After running Angeles Oaks service road to Seven Oaks then up Clarks grade and Skyline drive last weekend I am ready. We had a little snow on Skyline!

After that run I had to change the idler arm to get rid of the extreme death wobble that wasn't there before we hit the trail, so let's go again and see what else I have to replace! :reddance:

We might have snow if it gets as cold and wet as they are predicting.

Not only that, but there's a good chance that you'll at least need snow tires, or tires with M+S on them. And since there's an 80% chance of snow up in Arrowhead, that could likely change to requiring you to at least carry chains.

Looks like 138 is still good though, so if things are bad up there on Saturday and some don't want to continue into Arrowhead, they could just do Cleghorn then head out on the 138. I went all the way into Arrowhead with ElGringoLoco last time and it was a cool trail though, so if you can make it all the way, I definitely would do it.

I was planning to do this same trail on Saturday but, I'm starting out in Arrowhead. Lol. Papagayo's has some good margaritas. I was planning a little later start. I'll check with the gf to see if she is willing to get up a little earlier. My buddy with a jeep might join too. I'll let you know ASAP.

If you're running late, we should be easy to catch up to. Every other Cleg run we've done has been rushed. Not this time. We're going to take our time, take pictures, stop and smell the roses.

We'll be running CB channel 4 again, so we can communicate with each other.
