Bryce - What a way to celebrate your birthday.

Guess I`m too old or too conservative. I was afraid of too much mud and missed what looks like a great trip.

Here's why I had a shake above 60 on the way up there, slippage in the snow, trouble getting up that little hill and all of the noise once we hit the main road.

My buddy, Vince said the front wasn't spinning on that little hill but it did on the power line hill, so it must have given up somewhere in between. Oh well, :happens:

I limped it home, it was already broken, stopped and picked up 2 new axle shafts and put them in as soon as I got home. Took it on the freeway and got it up to 80 with no shake. Looks like I am ready to go again and see what else needs to be replaced.

Such a rad trip, thanks everyone who came out! Darrel(I think, I'm lousy with names) thanks for cruising up to meet us for lunch. I didn't get any pictures, I'm terrible at it. I got a little nervous up front a couple times, but all in all it was a perfect run. Hopefully everyone's warmed up by now.

im new and slowing transforming a '00 4runner 4x4.

Well, I got there too late to meet up but, I tried to catch up. I did at the end. Lol I bombed through most of it pre runner style. :eyebrows: I hit something just before the end that cause me to launch the front end pretty good. When it slammed back down, I hit something under the snow, causing it stand on the nose. Most everything in the back flew forward Broke my tool box, tote, and snow chain box. No one was hurt. Thankfully. I'm planning a cargo control system in the rear so everything is locked down. We had a good time. Want to do it again at slower pace and try some of the hard parts. Nice to meet you guys.

That's my buddy out here in Yucaipa. He isn't on the site here, I just invited him out. Glad I did, he made sure to stay with me as I limped home on a broken drive axle.

For all those that really enjoyed the offshoots/harder sections, there's a run this coming Sunday at Cougar Buttes, about 45 minutes north-east of Cleghorn. The 4R was a champ the entire way. I think most stock 4Rs can do this without a problem (taking the easy route). Funny you ask because things got a little interesting once we got off the trail and back on the roads to head home. Fresh powder + downhill(speed) + corners = tail stepping out. But overall, this can be as easy as you want or as hard as you want.
