when you said "decent sum of money" I was expecting at least 10k. Not to sound like a rich snob because I'm certainly far from it (rich or snob). And I know that 1200 bux is a substantial amount of money. But coming into 1200 extra dollars wouldn't prompt me to think of ways to spend it. Don't you have some credit cards you can pay down or maybe get a month ahead on your house payment?

All this gold talk makes me want to sell my 3rd gen, buy a cheap 1st or 2nd gen 4runner or truck, and invest the rest of the $ in gold.


I vote wheels. Since you've already got 881/906's. I think if you could find a good deal on some nice wheels.. then maybe have enough $ left to get maybe some 265/75 Goodyear Duratracs. That would make a big difference in the look of your truck.

Yeah, my grandparents had a very profitable (unbeknownst to them) hobby during the last 35 years of their lives. Anywhere from gold, silver and even a few platinum sets here and there, coupled with some collectible foreign currency and books upon books of collectible stamps. I can't wait until what they appreciate to in 5 years Thanks for the replies guys, I think that I'll be purchasing what I need to lift her up another inch or so. 881's and 906's gave me like 2" of lift when I was looking for 3-4".

SO: I'm gonna pull the trigger on even taller springs ; but am not aware too much of the harder OME springs. Will 883's and LC 8 wraps sit level with an ARB on the front? Or should I go for 883's and 890's? I Want a flexxy front and a flexxy rear too. I have the diff drop, but will I need a panhard drop in the back? I am thinking yes. Also going to extend the rear brake lines then too. So here's what I'm gonna buy:

- 883/890 (or LC 8's maybe?)
- Panhard drop
- SS rear brake lines
- Front skid plate (undecided)
- MAYBE lower control skids.... Maybe.

More thoughts appreciated.

*panhard drop- good idea...have someone weld it in place though...see my build thread

*extended brake line- don't bother, useless

*front skid- good thinkin'- BudBuilt

*LCA skids- meh, unless you plan on REALLLLLLY wheeling this year, I'd skip on those too. Most of use wheel the piss out of our trucks without them...

I want more lift because I am rubbing at full lock up front. I just got LR UCA's installed (or they're getting installed) so that will give me more clearance. But YO TENGO MAS LIFT-O. Gotta have it. Just gotta find it cheap. Found 7.5 wraps for 50 bucks + shipping, good deal, or will these sag and I should got for 8 wraps? Now I need 883's, panhard drop and front skid. Mmm yay, plans are coming to fruition.

Zach, would you be willing to help out in a lift process rather than a slider project? One my dad's employees has a son who builds custom hotrods for a living and willingly offered to help locally for free on the sliders. I know you said you mentioned you had access to basic tools for lift stuff, are you comfortable with helping on that, since I got NO idea how to work jack she!t when it comes to power tools really haham
