Decided to sell the 4Runner but have grand plans

So I have decided to sell my '10. It is listed in the for sale section if anyone is looking. I have been longing for a FJ40 and restoring it as a fun vehicle to drive and for adventure. By selling the 4R I can get a good used Acura TL and have $ left over to purchase a 40. I'm sure I will get another 4R down the road as I have had every model basically. Keep you all posted on what I find.

There seems to be a lot of FJ40 project cars floating around lately. I am always keeping an eye on that.

Are you looking to restore to original, or go the Chevy route?

I traded in my 2004 Sport Edition almost a year ago and have regreted every minute of it. Looking now for 2012 TE, hoping to get one by next week.

I know most people do the Chevy engine due to the availability of parts and etc... But I really want to put in the 3.4 or 4.7 Toyota engines... There are quite a few 40's out there but most are pretty bad. Hope I can find a semi decent one with minimal rust and go from there. Truck is still available...

I like the Toyota engines as well. I don't think I would ever put a Chevy in one. Good luck with it!

This isn't directed at anyone here, but I want to rant. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a nice restoration that has been ruined (in my snobby opinion) with a SBC because it was "easy". You don't buy a 40 year old offroader or a rare classic (like an e30 M3) because you want something easy. You want something special.
