DeeZee NXC Running Boards with Mud Guards

My 2013 SR5 has OEM mud flaps installed by the dealer. The way they are molded they cover about an inch of the rocker panel.
From the mud guard to the front of the rear wheel well is 70.25". DeeZee says their boards are 71.5" long so they are going to run past the rear rocker panel by 1.25" That is going to look ugly and collect all kinds of mud etc.

Does anyone else have Dee Zee boards with mud guards? Did you cut them off? If so which end do you cut - front or back?
Thanks.

I used to have them (well still do but no longer on the truck) and did trim the front about 1.25" or so and they looked great!

Thanks for the picture and info Billy. That gives me a much better idea of what it takes to make them work.
Another option might be Ionic CXV boards. They are supposed to fit with mud guards. I don't see much about them on the forum though.
Thanks again.
