Did I hurt anything???

I ran over a 6-8" curb tonight with my wife's 4 runner. I was only doing about 3-5 mph as I was pulling into a place to eat. I ran over it with front right side and had to get off of it by driving off the rear.


I didn't note anything pulling, makin a noise or acting different. It was like hitting a speed bump without slowing down all the way. Anyone done this before? Just want 2 make sure didn't hurt anything that I just haven't seen or fleet or the odds that I did do something?

Speed bump without slowing down? I don't know about anyone else, but my truck handles speed bumps at 45 mph better than 15 mph ;). It's a truck, it's capable of seeing abuse on the trails 10x worse than running off a curb.
 
No luckly I have 275/70/17 BFG's tires with front 2.5 lift and 1.5 rear lift kits. I just never have done anything like that on 4x2 vehicle. My runner was bought for in town use noting else just made me sick when I done it.

I am very anal with when it comes to my vehicles or for that matter anything. Sincese it only has 9,000 miles and I was planning to hit the curb that way I just asked the question to ease my mind. While I didn't again feel that I hurt something after quick look over and it driving the same. In the back of my mind I still think I did when odds are that I didn't.

I was mostly concerned that I knocked the front end out of allign or something else. Good to hear 4 runners can take a hit and keep going. Thanks for the input on matter.
 
Your asking questions that maybe a Prius owner should ask. You have a lifted 4x4 with all terrain tires. You'll be ok lol

I did something very similar on Cypress St (you should probably know where that is) a few weeks back.. I don't think I hurt anything. You should be fine.
 
So you went off a curb or went up the curb? Big diff. Going off would be nothing , going up at 3 to 6mph could bend a rim or possibly worse. I've seen that happen before. I wouldn't worry to much, but would be aware of any adverse handling and maybe have the alignment checked next service.

I am the same way with my cars always worried I hurt something... But for some reason I never do. Regarding curbs any stock 5th gen SR5 can handle a 6 or 8 inch curb no problem at 5 MPH. It is BOF SUV not a Prius or Volt - I find myself running over curbs all the time at low speed not because I need too but because I can - actually it is sort-a fun. What good is a BOF SUV if you don't enjoy it. :plane:
 
The only thing you might have done is given the alignment a nudge. If it still drives/handles/steers the same as before, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yea I understand but just wanted to ask. For the record it only a 4x2. Lol as for the aligment I have it done 3 times already due to new tires etc. I can't tell tr Diffrance in handling and figured if I would have knocked it out it would be pulling hard or not acting the same. I just hate that I curb checked a new vehicle that cost $32,000.00-$40,000.

From your profile I see you are from or stay in northeast LA. So since I live in west Mornoe I know where cypress street is for the record. Lol!!

Yeah I live there during summer and school breaks most of the time! Wonderful little town, even though it's well, West Monroe, Louisiana. I should have been more specific since cypress kinda goes on forever but yeah. The point of the matter is that NO you did not hurt anything!

So you bought a body-on-frame truck, lifted it, and put on off-road tires "for in town use noting else"??

That is correct. I bought the tires because I wanted a heavy duty tire that gets good miles out of them. At the time I was getting new tires for my truck and got a better deal by buying 4 of them. The leveling kit was sent wrong to me for the front and made it to talll in the front.


So i ended up having to install a rear lift kit to offset it. None of this was the plan other then level the front out and but better tires then OEM along with other acc. etc..........

Good thanks for the info. Glad to see another LA guy here will at least part time. LOL
