did this part fall off? help identify part.

I found this "gromment" piece on the floorboards, driver's side while on vacation. I don't know if it belongs to the 4Runner or just coincidence I found it on the carpet. An inspection under the dash and seat shows no obvious missing part.
It was discovered during a 2500 mile family vacation with kids and wife and vehicle stuffed to the max. So it could have come from something else.
Please give me sanity check, does this part belong to the 4Runner?

The length of the "grommet" is approx 1.1 inch and it's a high quality rubber product. The units in the photo are in millimeters.

I believe that goes through the firewall. Could be wrong, but that is what it appears to be.

i found the same grommet in my car too and was wondering where it came from :dunno:

So did I...back in 2011. I had posted it on here but nobody answered it. It seems likely that it could go in the firewall...my rig is still runnin' just fine after all this time, so I guess it probably isn't a big deal.
