diff breather relocation - rendered down

hey - after reading many threads, with a lot of them containing contradictions of whether the rear diff breather is one or two way - this or that- i am looking to render down the parts needed to do this project, as my wheeling always involves a lot of water crossings. i dont want to discuss how any of this works or what type of valve is there, i just want to know the common group of parts needed to do this mod.

You looking for clear or black tubing? Should be pretty easy to find. Its 1/4" Inside Diameter tubing

1/4 inch ID fuel line is what i used.

I just got that same exact union delivered today from Amazon. Should be installing tomorrow.

Those listed are exactly what I just put on my second Gen last night as a matter of fact. Union was a perfect fit, used Teflon tape and don't over tighten. The new breather was questionable to me, but when I compared airflow to my stock 251,000 mile old one it was a no brainer...

6 feet of 1/4" fuel hose purchased, about 5.5' used to get right up to the filler neck. Would have been all 6 feet to actually get into the fuel door itself. My fuel door is on passenger side for reference.

thanks. i bought 10', i plan to feed down from the gas cap area as opposed to routing from the diff upward. thanks for the advice on teflon tape and low torque for the union. i take it little hose clamps or zip ties for securing the union and breather to hose...i might even consider bringing mine to the rear storage corners, as im not crazy worried about smell or fumes in there. i will need to review some routing techniques before i tackle this on the weekend.

lol project keep getting ahead of my headlight install. i have had two new OEM replacements under my basement stairs for like 6 mos now.

I'm surprised your vehicle didn't have factory breathers like my '07 Limited V8 did, since they're about the same model.

But for anyone who is doing this & replacing their stock diff breathers, did you replace the unions as well? Or just the tubing & breathing mechanism

they all have the same breathers i think, its just the rear diff breather is not up higher like the front diff. ( I know theres a t case and tranny one too but im not really looking to get into that discussion right now.)

The rear axle has an axle tube mounted breather. It isn't built from the factory with a tube attached like front axle is. If you have a tube attached to your rear axle breather, it isn't factory.
