how can I find out what different packages are ...like on the spec sheet for the rig it says
package c7, c9,GK#4

related....on spec sheet it says chrome wheel moulding....but it has the black mouldings that run into the running boards....not the big fat flares...so maybe that was one of the packages listed above or put on at a later time.

i tried that site b4 posting the question. Actually ive been a little dispointed in that site. It seems as you need to know the original dealer it sold with. As I have looked up several cars using the vin and 2 of them it says no service records available. I then typed in my old 4runner, which I had about 3 pages of records from the toyota dealer..the oringnal owner had tons done there...even wiper blades according to the print out from the toyota dealer....that site showed a few of them. So the car in question...bought at a dealer did not even do warranty work or new dealer prep ? One car I used car fax and found out who original dealer was, it was in that town for almost 8 years with that new owner according to carfax , typed that in and it still said no service records on file...or something like that.
It does tell me how it left the factory....kind of...it states things like port installed package c7...and stuff like that.
also like stated in my oringanal post..it states chrome wheel well mouldings....yet this rig has black bigger moulding and running boards ....if those were dealer installed wouldnt it say that on a service record...oris that one of the packages Im trying to figure out.

maybe Im doing something wrong.

The public owners site is definitely incomplete. The TIS has much better records for original build (including reasonable package descriptions), but costs $$$ for more than a 2 or 3 day membership.
